Kayden’s Fundraiser

Kayden’s Fundraiser

From Hockey to Helping Others

Four years ago, Kayden’s life changed when he had his first seizure. He was just 14 when he was diagnosed with juvenile myoclonic epilepsy. At the time, managing his condition wasn’t easy—his initial medication dosage was too high, making things worse before they got better. But no matter what, he kept playing hockey—the sport he loved.

Now, at just 18, Kayden is doing well. He’s made the tough decision to step away from hockey for safety reasons, but he’s grateful for every moment he had on the ice. Instead of focusing on what he’s lost, he’s turning his energy toward something new: raising awareness and supporting epilepsy research.

Kayden wants to share his story to help others understand what it’s like to live with epilepsy. He’s teaming up with his hockey community to launch a fundraiser, hoping to make a difference by supporting research and encouraging open conversations about epilepsy.

“I just want to help people understand what epilepsy is and how it affects people like me,” says Kayden. “If sharing my story helps even one person feel less alone, it’s worth it.”

Now, he’s inviting others to join him. Support Kayden’s fundraiser, help raise awareness of epilepsy, and together we can FUND RESEARCH, FUEL HOPE.
