Important Message Re: COVID 19
Epilepsy Canada has always valued your generous donations to support our research projects with an objective to finding new solutions and a cure. We do not receive any government support or grants and therefore our business is funded by great Canadians like you.
We have been monitoring, like every Canadian organization, developments related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. Health and safety for all is, of course, the top priority. Although our focus is on research, we’ve received many questions about how or if coronavirus affects those living with epilepsy.
As someone who lives with epilepsy, I was most interested to find comprehensive answers at this link:
www.epilepsy.com/article/2020/3/concerns-about-coronavirus We will continue to monitor how this new virus affects those living with epilepsy and will provide periodic posts or directions.
Our Epilepsy Canada staff are working remotely but we are all available through their regular email addresses. We have arranged for key business services to continue. As always, if you have any general questions please contact epilepsy@epilepsy.ca. We will get back to you as soon as we can.
All Epilepsy Canada events that were planned for March and April are being rescheduled in alignment with Public Health Ontario recommendations for social distancing. If you were planning on making a donation through one of the postponed events, your support is still needed; please consider doing so online at www.epilepsy.ca/donate
We will continue to closely monitor the situation and the advice of public health officials. As such, we may take further decisions around the extent of fundraising activities in the future. We will keep you posted on our website and social media channels.
Epilepsy Canada values your continued support and dedication to ensuring important research continues to improve the lives of those living with epilepsy. Thank you for your continued commitment and ongoing support during these extraordinary circumstances.

President
