Epilepsy Awareness Month 2021

March is Epilepsy Awareness Month in Canada.

Our goal during this month is to raise awareness, challenge myths, and help dismantle the stigma of epilepsy.

Given the current circumstances with COVID, we’ll be encouraging our community to get involved virtually this year. Throughout March we’ll be raising awareness about epilepsy, through our social media channels. Follow us on Instagram and look out for a number of our new awareness campaigns like, #TakeActionTuesday where we post about ideas on how to take action; and #FacesOfEpilepsy where we share the brave people who are breaking down the stigma of epilepsy by sharing their stories publicly.

We’ll also be highlighting Alek Stewart’s story. Not only is he one of our favourite Epilepsy Canada Fundraising Champion’s he is also a personal hero of ours! His story is a must-read!

If you’d like to get involved directly or you’d like to share YOUR own story reach out to us at lisa@epilepsy.ca

The Faces of Epilepsy

Throughout the month of March we are featuring the brave people who are breaking down the stigma of epilepsy by sharing their stories publicly. Every Friday we’ll be highlighting one of these incredible stories on social media.

360,000 people have epilepsy in Canada, but many don’t tell anyone their health status due to public misconceptions about the condition. Our hope is to help change this!
